Introducing Ed Adams

I was born in Ontario, California and raised in a strong Christian home where I accepted the Lord as my savior as a child. After growing up involved in local church life and serving in a Baptist Church in various capacities, I felt called and surrendered to the ministry as a young adult. After completing my education I served in several California churches in numerous capacities, Church Planter Strategist with the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention and currently as Director of Missions of the High Desert Baptist Association northeast of Los Angeles, California. I praise the Lord for my wonderful dedicated parents, Godly Christian wife, Ellie, two children and three grandchildren.

Over the years I have participated in numerous mission trips including trips to Korea and Mexico. In 1999 I traveled to Cambodia and Myanmar in Southeast Asia to help prepare for a mission trip involving the churches of the High Desert Association which was planned for the next year. While completing the evangelistic effort in 2000 it became apparent that the pastors, while extremely dedicated were not equipped to disciple and care for the many new converts as a result of our evangelistic efforts. Upon subsequent evangelistic mission trips to Myanmar the need became even more apparent. God gave me the privilege to meet Jeff Easley of International Commission as he lead and coordinated our 2000 trip to Myanmar. Convicted by the obvious need of training pastors in these restricted access countries a dream began to emerge in Jeff’s heart. Upon his return to the states he challenged and partnered with David Robbins, also of International Commission, to form what is now The Aquila Project.

As I have witnessed over the years the total commitment and burning desire of these extremely committed young men to strengthen the Kingdom by equipping pastors in the dark and forbidden places of the world, God began to convict my heart to join the team. I will step down as Director of Missions and join the Aquila staff as Vice President, West Coast Development beginning January 1, 2006. I am totally convinced that the hope of reaching these restricted access countries is the equipping and encouraging of these sacrificial servants. I encourage you to pray regarding your support of this exciting ministry. I know of no better use of mission dollars.

Monday (almost) Misson Moment

James O. Frasier was a missionary serving in the late 1800's/early 1900's in China among the Lisu people. The Lisu people still live throughout SW China, Myanmar, and Thailand. Frasier served with the China Inland Mission.

These people that Frasier served and that this quote is about, are from the same people group that will be attending our training in late February 2006. Some of these precious servants of the Lord will WALK for 10 days (one-way) in order to attend the institute because of governmental travel restrictions. Our institute will be held in Mandalay (that is as far as Westerners can travel in Myanmar). They are simply amazing people.

"Rome was not built in a day, nor will the work of building up a strong, well-instructed body of Lisu Christians in the Tengyueh district be the work of a day either...God has brought me to the point of being willing to be in His time as well as in His way. I am even willing...not to see the fullness of blessing in my life-time." James O. Fraser (1886-1938)

PRAYER FOCUS:
Pray for the Lisu people as they work to lead their people to Christ.
Pray for them as they begin to prepare to attend the Aquila Institute in February.
Pray for us as we study and prepare to teach.
