Phriday is for Photo's (or Friday is for Foto's)...

Colton and I had a wonderful time as guests of Jeff & Joshua Easley at The Tulsa Golden Hurricane vs. Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles on Tuesday night.
I took my camera hoping for some good shots, but much to my chagrin, I had some shall we say, "technical difficulties". This one picture however came out well.
Does God really care about the outcome of the football game? I'm not so sure He does (unless my NFL Fantasy Football Team is involved, of course). But we should care enough about God to ask Him to be involved in every area of our lives.
I think that's what the purpose of this prayer was.
Thanks for taking this journey with us!

Learning can be FUN!

The Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization grew out of the 1974 Congress on Global Evangelism held in Lausanne, Switzerland. The gathering was called by a committee headed by Rev. Billy Graham.

The Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization seeks to encourage and stimulate the involvement of churches, denominations, ministries, networks and individuals in the cause of world evangelization.

Lausanne provides a place for theological discussion and the development of practical strategies to address crucial issues facing the church in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

One of the incredible things that results from Lausanne meetings is the publishing of occasional papers covering a wide variety of topics germane to missions’ endeavors.

Our staff has been reading through some of these occasional papers. One of them is titled “A Call to Develop Christ-Like Leaders”.

Two things affirm our work in this paper.

1. The effort to equip grass-roots leaders. Even beyond local level “professional” pastors. Our institutes welcomes “church leaders”. These ground level leaders are influencers of people and are key in sparking a global movement of training among emerging leaders.

2. The focus on respecting our cultural context. Our goal is NOT to “westernize” the Asian church. Heaven forbid. We have enough issues. Our duty is to respect the multi-faceted beauty of each culture, and foster growth so that they can be a conduit to sharing the gospel in the way that works best within their culture.

The paper also presented some things for us at The Aquila Project to consider. There are 61 occasional papers produced. Some of them are more relevant to our work than others. We are in the process of reviewing those papers and beginning discussion as to how to implement information pertinent to our work. Pray for us as we learn and have those discussions.

Thanks for taking this journey with us!
David
