Aquila Update

I'm in the process of setting up google groups to automatically send update emails to those interested. Be patient as I work out the "bugs".

This will make it easier for us to report from the field. In other words, if it works like I think it will, we can send to one email address and it will be forwarded as a BCC to all interested.

If you would like to be a part of this automatic update, please email me at david@theaquilaproject.com - or you can just reply to this blog entry.

Thanks,
David

With our training trip just around the corner, I wanted to remind you of some of the faces there. These men and women are in real need of training, and they are our friends. I hope that you will continue to lift them up in your prayers and that you will ask the Lord how your family and church should be involved in providing for their needs.

We continue to ask God to provide financially for this trip. Would you prayerfully consider being a part of providing training for one or more Pastors and church leaders.

$99.90 (I know that sounds like a price at Wal-Mart, but it is a real number) provides training for one pastor or church leader. That includes our travel and ground costs, the pastor's travel, meals, lodging, materials, and some office support for Aquila.

Pastor's in the U.S. spend more than that on a conference across town!

If you would like to know how to facilitate a gift, please email me at david@theaquilaproject.com or call 918-636-3266

Thanks in advance for your partnership!

David

Tomorrow

I had a great conversation with a life-long (well almost life-long) friend today. It was encouraging even though there weren't propositional answers given.

Recently I have been thinking about my journey of faith, the prospect of a better tomorrow, and the ability to manage (wrong word perhaps) all of the experience that leads to what God wants for my life.

The truth is that I have no idea what's around the next bend. Life brings with it sorrow, heartbreak, joy and celebration. They are all mixed together. As we journey in the direction that God points us, we continue to put one foot in front of the other - sometimes walking, sometimes running.

It would be nice to have all of the questions answered. The questions of a modern mind, "How is the project going to be funded?" ; "How are the lesson plans we've made going to relate?"'; "Who is willing to jump onboard with us on this journey and support the missional effort?"

But the truth is, the answers to those questions do not propel us to obedience.

Obedience is measured by taking the next step on the path that God has placed before us.

What does tomorrow bring? I really have no idea of the details. I know what the outline looks like. I definitely know what the vision is - to encourage and equip God's sacrificial servants...

I do know that as I walk on His path, tomorrow brings His presence.

What could be better than that.
