Before I join our equipping team...

I just wanted to blog several random thoughts before I leave to join our equipping team.

1. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for your involvement in this ministry. God has provided the financial resources for our most ambitious project through your generous giving. Our budget was over $20,000 and all needs are met. One note of encouragement - over 60% of those funds came from those who were making a first time gift to The Aquila Project! Praise the Lord for those who are joining in the work of equipping and encouraging. Sometimes when there is a focus on project giving, general giving suffers, but we are yet to experience that. Thanks to all who are continuing to give to support the "basics". We cherish your involvement.

2. I am overwhelmed by the prospect of standing before some of the most precious servants on the planet and breaking open the Bread of Life. Continue to pray for our team as we seek to impart Truth through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.

3. We are indeed "falling off the planet". Hopefully our ability to send reports will continue, but that is in the Lord's hands. Keep praying even if you don't hear from us. Know that we are attempting to get updates out on a consistent basis.

4. If you have questions about donations/finances please contact Jon Heath at joncheath@cs.com Jon will contact you and do his best to answer your questions. We are grateful for Jon and his involvement in this ministry.

For His Name,
David

IMPORTANT INFO

Hello all - Jeff recently made a post using our remote email feature from Burma. It is the only way to get around government censure.  The good news is that it looks like we will be able to post updates successfully.  But - his post also included the email address of the hotel that we are staying at.

WARNING- please do not email that hotel.  First, there are safety/security issues.  Email is monitored by the government and we do not want to draw attention to ourselves.

Secondly, To receive emails it costs $1 each.  The potential  problem is that there are over 200 of you receiving this update - and we simply do not have the financial resources to receive 200 emails or 100 emails or 50 emails.

Continue to pray for our teams. We love and appreciate you and are grateful that you are taking this journey with us.

When we get home we would love the opportunity to visit with you and your small group Bible Study, your church, or your business colleagues  about all that God has done and is doing through our work. Be praying about scheduling those opportunities of communication as a "good Ambassador" of The Aquila Project

If you would be interested in hosting a small group coffee/dessert/lunch, please email Jeff and I at  blog@theaquilaproject.com

May God be glorified in all that is done.

I leave on Thursday to join our team.  Pray for traveling grace.

We'll see you in about a month!

Thanks again for all you do for The Aquila Project!

David

Starting today...

Greetings from Yangon, it is Tuesday morning here (Monday night in the States) and we are getting ready to start the first class. We are very excited about this opportunity and look forward to updating you as the opportunity presents itself. This message is really just a test to see if we will be able to post remotely to the blog while we are here. Please continue to pray for the team as well as for our families back home.

Also pray for David as he leaves on Thursday to join us here in Yangon. Thanks for taking this journey with us...

Jeff

PS - you may receive blog updates that include an email address for the hotel where we are staying. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL THAT HOTEL - it costs us $1 for every email received, and well, quite frankly, it will bust the budget if over 200 of you email us each day and say "we're praying for you"
