Reminder - Day of Prayer

Just wanted to remind you that tomorrow, Dec. 1st, we will be focusing on the prayer needs of our global and stateside partners.

If you have requests that you would like for us to lift up in prayer, please just reply to this email.

Thanks for standing with us in prayer!

PS - We have discovered a new feature of blogging - and that is "audio blogging". Next week some time we will send our first audio blog. You will receive an email just as you do with our text blogs. To listen, click the "play" button. Your computer will automatically open a new window and an audio file should begin playing (assuming you have audio capabilites). Just wanting to give you a "heads up" that you will receive a different kind of blog entry next week.

The Passion of Prayer

African Pioneer Missionary David Livingstone died at the age of 61 in a position that characterized his life and ministry -- on his knees.

One biographer details the scene, ""By the candle still burning they saw him, not in bed; but kneeling at the bedside, with his head buried in his hands upon the pillow. The sad, yet not unexpected truth soon became evident; he had passed away on the furthest of all his journeys, and without a single attendant. But he had died in the act of prayer, -- prayer offered in that reverent attitude about which he was always so particular; commending his own spirit, with all his dear ones as he was wont, into the hands of his Savior; and commending Africa, his own dear Africa, with all her woes and sins and wrongs, to the Avenger of the oppressed and the Redeemer of the lost."

What a vivid picture of prayer that should challenge us toward a more passionate approach to the Throneroom of our Heavenly Father.

Thursday, December 1st is our Day of Prayer - we would love the opportunity to pray for you, please email your specific requests to prayer@theaquilaproject.com

You can join in prayer for
  • the 700 pastors and church leaders who are scheduled to attend classes in 2006.
  • the people of Cambodia as they are facing a severe shortage of rice.
  • our friend in Bangladesh, Hermanto, who faces severe persecution.
