travel report

First, Jeff apologizes for using the word "are" instead of "our" in the last posting. He certainly knows the difference in the two. We'll attribute it to the weary state of mind, buzzing mosquitoes, and the typically malfunctioning keyboards at the internet cafe's in Phnom Penh.

We are in Taipei! It's Friday evening and we still have two nights of air travel. Our first flight to Los Angeles is about 12 hours and leaves here at 7:40 pm. We then have a layover in LA (during which time we will clear customs (hopefully) and get our boarding passes for the next flights and consume some "american" food at Chili's).

Please pray for our temperance and our digestive systems.

Then we will leave Los Angeles on Friday night (yes another Friday night) at about 11 pm and fly to Chicago, it is about a 3.5 hour flight and we will arrive at 5 something am (do THAT math).

Following a long enough layover to have breakfast, we will board our last flight from Chicago to Tulsa and arrive on Saturday morning 22nd of July at 10:02 am (Lord willing).

We will post some reflections about this trip soon. Jeff and I are talking and thinking, and want to make our thoughts meaningful for you.

We are grateful for your support, prayers, and contributions. All of which made this project successful. Your encouragement is incredible.

Thanks for taking this journey with us!!!!!

See You soon!

svay reing...

are team has just arrived back in phnom penh after completing our final session for this trip in svay reing. svay reing is a province in southeast cambodia along the vietnamese border and a very rural province. we had an incredible time with 63 pastors and leaders from the surrounding areas, their thirst for knowledge is truly humbling. this was our second time to svay reing and we look forward to many more years working there. as i mentioned it is very rural, no internet, no tourists, nothing to attract tourists! we stayed in the only hotel in town and had rooms complete with brown running water that never got warm. it is a good reminder to us of how good we have it in the states.

tonight we are meeting some of our cambodian friends at a pizza restraunt here in phnom penh and then we will come back and pack. our flight leaves tomorrow morning (thursday evening in the states) and we will arrive in tulsa around 10:30 on saturday morning.

it has been a great trip as we have had the privilege of seeing just over 200 pastors and leaders in our conferences as well as strenghtening our relationship with the cambodian baptist union. please continue to pray for these men and women who are leading the churches of cambodia. their lives are more difficult than most of us can imagine and yet they serve our king with humility and a smile. they truly are our heroes.

thank you to all of you who have supported this ministry through your prayers and your financial support. together we are making a difference in the lives of thousands of people across southeast asia.

that all may hear!
