Beautiful feet...

"How Beautiful"
.
Calloused heels, missing nails,
Bloody blisters, & broken bones.
.
Flattened arches, swollen ankles,
Imbedded glass, & infected toes.
.
How beautiful, how beautiful,
How beautiful are the feet
Of those who bring good news.
.
Why, Father, do You not anoint me
To go in the power of the Spirit
To preach Good News?
.
Why, Father, do You not anoint me
To proclaim freedom to prisoners, &
To heal the sight of the blind?
.
Why, Father, do You not anoint me
To release the oppressed, &
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord?
.
"Why Not Me?", I cried.
And He said...
.
"No calloused heels, no missing nails,
No bloody blisters, & no broken bones.
.
No flattened arches, no swollen ankles,
No imbedded glass, & no infected toes."
.
How beautiful, How beautiful
How beautiful are the feet
Of those who bring Good News.
