Arrived Safe and All is Well

After much delay we have arrived and had our first night sleep in Myanamar.  All are well. Ed had a brief bout of Montesuma's revenge but is feeling much better this morning. A good night's sleep  in the horizontal position cures all ills.

We are going to need a day to get ourselves feeling human again. Please remember us in that regard. We hit the ground running on Monday morning.

Thanks for taking this journey with us...

In Taipei - next to Bangkok

Well, the fog has lifted in Taipei and we landed about two hours ago.

The EVA airline representative had a time re-doing our flights to Bangkok and on to Yangon - she said it (the computer) showed that we never checked in at Los Angeles.

Funny how computers work.

We are all a bit "punchy" now - but glad that 15 hour flight is over.  We will leave Taipei at 10:45 pm tonight and Fly to Bangkok - arriving at the middle of the night - then we'll have a 9 hour layover before getting to Yangon.

It is interesting how quickly a 36 hour trip can turn into a 72 hour trip.

Hopefully we will be able to get a couple of day rooms at the Bangkok airport for some sleep and a hot shower.  All of us are healthy - no problems other than the occasional headache.

The only concern we have is that since the computer said we didn't check in at Los Angeles, did our bags check in?

HMMM - that is one thing we will find out tomorrow.

Thanks for taking this journey with us!

Nothing Like Being Stuck in LA

Well,  there is nothing quite like being stuck in LA!

Imagine that - made it from Tulsa - via Dallas to Los Angeles and now we are stuck!

The Reason...

The Taipei airport is totally shut down because of FOG!

So we are the Hacienda at LAX enjoying a free room and dinner and breakfast compliments of EVA air.

Our flight is delayed until Wednesday morning at 8:30 ish

So PRAY THAT THE FOG LIFTS IN TAIPEI (Please)

The Lord knows the reason - we'll trust it is because He has a better plan than the original one.

Thanks for taking this journey with us!

Launching in > 24hours

Our departure time is approaching rapidly.

Bags are being packed - last minute items are being remembered (hopefully).

Our flight schedule is somewhat strenuous.  We fly to Dallas, then to Los Angeles, then to Taipei, Taiwan (15 hour flight), then to Bangkok (4 hour flight) - arrive in Bangkok in the Middle of the night and have a 6 + hour layover, then a short 1 hour hop to Yangon.

It is approximately 48 hours of travel. So pray for us that we endure (again), and that jet lag doesn't totally zap us once we arrive.

Jimmy Lawbaugh is travelling with us and will be teaching for the first portion of our trip. Jimmy has a love of the people that is both evident and welcomed.

We will send updates as we are able to find secure internet connections (and power at the same time).

Pray for our families while we are gone. That automobiles stay running, that appliances continue to operate, and that all remain healthy.

Jeff, Ed, and I want to say just a brief word about how wonderful our wives are.  Not many women would let their husbands travel a month at a time (multiple times each year).  Their ability to "handle" things at home is what makes our ministry possible. They are women who believe in what we are doing, they support our effort, and they are incredibly strong.

Thank you Jan, Ellie, and Shannon for "sharing us" with those who "need to know" in SE Asia.  The jewels in your crowns of faithfulness will no doubt be extra special.  All our love.

Thanks for taking this journey with us!
