Who we are...

The mission statement of The Aquila Project is, "to equip and encourage sacrificial servants in restricted access countries in order to advance the Great Commission". We do this by conducting week-long intensive conferences for rural church leaders. Our curriculum covers areas like, Systematic Theology, Leadership, and Mission Principles. To date we have had the opportunity to equip and encourage more than 400 leaders in Southeast Asia.

This ministry is the fulfillment of the vision that God has given David and I over the past 4 years. It took us awhile to get the organization off the ground, but since the fall of 2003 we have been making at least 3 trips a year to Southeast Asia. We have been invited to grow the ministry with many invitations to expand to other areas of Southeast Asia. It is our prayer that as our financial base continues to grow that we will indeed be able to impact more leaders with the training and encouragement that they need to reach their people.

It is our belief that the North American church is now the "junior partner" in world missions. For many years the missionaries set the tone and direction for the indigenous church, but that has been changing in recent years as God has raised up Godly leaders to shepherd his Church. Our goal is to come alongside these Godly men and women and provide them with the tools they need to be effective in their ministries.

We hope to use this blog to keep you up-to-date with the projects and the people of The Aquila Project. We covet your prayers as we continue to pursue the God given vision that is The Aquila Project.

Welcome to our BLOG!

Blog - interesting word, reminds me of the old horror movie, "The BLOB"!

It makes me think that a blog would be something a little scary and maybe a little dangerous, so much information in the hands of "JEFF and DAVID"...

It's amazing the amount of infomation that can be found out on the web. Some of it useful, some of it trivial. We hope that as we develop this blog that it will be something that you can check back into from time to time to see what is going in our lives and ministry.

It is also a tool, hopefully a useful tool that we can use to update you with thoughts and pictures from the field. You will be able to get first hand reports as we train pastors and church leaders in Southeast Asia.

From time to time Jeff and I will comment on current issues and our thoughts on theology (dangerous, I know) and current events.

We are looking forward to hearing from you, so please leave us comments.

Look out for the BLOG!
