Ambition, Being Fluid, and Project Funding Update...

Somtimes I wonder if ambition is a good thing. I know, without a certain amount of ambition one would never make it out of bed or out of the recliner.

But how much ambition is enough?

Our Feb/March Project is, perhaps, one of those times when ambition clouded our judgement. We simply wanted to do more, to equip more, to encourage more, and to meet the expectation of our overseas Partners. But that ambition led us to get a bit carried away with our planning.

In short, we "outplanned" our ability to raise the necessary financial resources to meet the plan. I suppose wanting to do too much is better than aiming for a manure pile....

One other lesson we have learned over the years is the necessity to be adaptable. We call it being "fluid". It is that ability to change rapidly when circumstances demand.

So that is what we have done. Our initial plan has been scaled back a bit. (If only we could print money.)

Our equipping team leaves on February 6, 2007 and will return in early March. Airline tickets are purchased. Visas have been requested and there are approximately 200 (plus) leaders waiting our arrival. But instead of eight institutes, we are conducting four.

Please know that your giving - your financial investment is what makes this work possible. Our committment is to be good stewards and to maximize the dollars in the best way possible.

For those who have asked about a financial update - here it is: Our budget goal for this project is $19,080.60 as of this email we have received $12,518 which leaves us $6,562.60 yet to realize.

Several appeals have been made, and we are prayerfully awaiting the response. Our confidence is in God's provision.
