What is Really going on "Out There"?
I read updates from many different sources on the state of the church around the world. It is refreshing to see something other than an American perspective. One such perspective is from an Australian friend, and in his latest update he writes:
The church (globally) is transforming itself from an organisation to an organism. After 1700 years of institutional structure, the Body of Christ is emerging in the form described in the New Testament. People are rediscovering the original forms and functions in an open, participatory system mostly consisting of house churches.
In our travels we find this to be true. In the hidden places of this world, where there are minimal outside influences, there is an incredibly close picture to New Testament Christianity.
One of the most recent "re-realizations" for Jeff and I (if re-realization is actually a word) is that we MUST be committed to be BIBLICAL in our training. Outside sources are good for reading and study, but our curriculum must rely soley on the Word of God -- Because that is the only book most of the Pastors and church leaders we train own.
Pray for us, that as we continue to develop curriculum, we will hit the mark of "rightly dividing the Word of Truth".
Thanks for taking this journey with us. It is certainly humbling to us to have your support and encouragement.

PS: In an email from Cambodia, Nivath said that it was raining across much of the country, but that in Svay Reing there hadn't been any rain. (YET)! Keep praying!
